SATYA Yātrā 2027

Immersion in India

10-day Yātrā in India

Early 2027
(dates announced soon)

The SATYA system of self realisation and spiritual emergence is empowered in its native terrain.

On yātrā, the Indian word for pilgrimage, we journey this native terrain. Along the path, through Umā’s way of sharing her lived experience of satya (realness), synergistic elements of Tantra, Yoga and Ayurveda come alive in the storytelling. Authentic experience morphs into living the myth.

The SATYA Yātrā experience offers:

Uma is born into Hindu Indian culture and has been guiding yogic sadhana for three decades in both the East and the West.

SATYA Yātrā with Umā, in India, is a distinctive opportunity for you to question and participate in the inner workings of the yogic traditions.

This journey felt like an access point into an India I have never been able to access before. It was an opening to slip into, and receive the codes and the medicine that the land holds.

I feel I was shown the real magic—how rituals and ceremonies done were the real deal. And this can be assimilated into my life in so many places, because it taught me that magic is real, and it is based on my CHOICE. To see that ceremonies are done because it actually does something in the geometry immediately, it changed something profound in me.

I’m so very appreciative of every place that was seamlessly woven into the geometry of our journey together. Thank you for holding a space allowing the mysticism and fairytales to be revealed.”

Why India

From far and wide, for thousands of years, pathfinders seeking life-enhancing technologies crossed oceans and mountains to reach Bharat, now known as India. These names literally testify to the spiritual wealth of motherland and traditions yoked to the quest of self-knowledge, self-healing and self-mastery.

From India we inherit extant cosmology, philosophy, sciences and arts founded on natural laws, including Tantra, Yoga, Ayurveda, Vedic Astrology.

The SATYA Yātrā is an experience of stepping into these systems of Nature and living them for 10 days—a distinctively powerful practice in the land where they were born and still flourish today amongst the people you will meet, in the temples where you will pray, resonating from the sacred ground upon which you will tread.

Heritage accommodations & delicious South Indian meals

For the 10 days/9 nights of this SATYA training, we base ourselves in the beating heart of Kishkinda—ancient land of myth and legends, of timeless beauty, where holy rivers snake through verdant fields and temples top bouldered hills around each bend.

We will be hosted in inviting heritage homes in a warm Karnataka village. The cost of this yātrā includes shared accommodation in double rooms and three meals a day of wholesome, freshly cooked Karnataka-style food, and non-caffeinated beverages. Meals will be sattvic and digestible, based on Ayurvedic principles.

Dedicated time with Umā is priceless. For me, being in India with her is an experience of one door opening to more opening doors, allowing for the magic of each moment to be realised.Uma’s ability for a plan to co-exist with having no plan unravels into a beautiful orchestration of profound experience.

I feel invited to to fully participate and embody faith, will and action in my spiritual and daily life—awakening to the realisation they are not separate and equally as important.”

Daily rhythms

Aligned with our studies of Ayurveda, the schedule is guided by the natural rhythms of day and evening that support our wellbeing and optimise our natural capacities.

Our days will generally flow within a rhythm similar to this, with variations to be expected along the way:

Engaging in India’s sacred art of exchange, seva (service), is an integral aspect of this journey—giving back just as we receive, a practice of circulation with the world around us.  At times this may be a spontaneous occurrence, and there will be specific times we practise seva through community service.

Additional practices may include times of silence, personal mantra practice, pujas or guest teachersʼ programs.

When I’m in India with Umā I’m deeply *in* India—no longer a foreigner on the outskirts glimpsing in, but a practitioner carried into India’s multifold richness by someone of this culture, bringing me in.

India’s sacred traditions abound from Umā, and she is incredibly skilled at unfolding them for us. She is known and honoured in the villages where we stayed, and door after door opened for us—to ancient cave drawings, to mysterious monoliths, to sacred pujas conducted in our names and, perhaps best of all, into the homes of wonderful people who welcomed us with open hearts.”

Frequently asked questions

Please read the following information before registering for SATYA Yātrā.

No. The SATYA Yātrā is an experiential education in SATYA: the Synergistic Alignment of Tantra, Yoga and Ayurveda. No prior education or experience of these Indian sciences is necessary. If you have specific questions or concerns, you’re welcome to ask us about these in advance.

If you have a strong interest in Ayurveda, lifestyle design and self care, we recommend you also take the SATYA module Utmost Care: Ayurvedic training for self healing.

You’ll be provided with a list of recommended items to pack, including the type of clothing that is culturally appropriate.

Among other things, you’ll want to have clothing that is easy to move in; a warm layer for mornings and evenings; a yoga mat or ground cloth that might get dirty; cushion or blanket for seated meditation; sun protection; insect protection; toiletries; notebook and pen; etc.

We recommend you plan to arrive in India at least 2 days before you travel to the Yātrā location, giving yourself time to purchase clothing that is appropriate for temples (details provided after registration). This shopping is best done in Bengaluru/Bangalore or other cities.

A small mat made of woven natural fibre like grass or bamboo can also be useful to have in temples, where sitting on cloth is sometimes not allowed.

We recommend you plan to arrive in India at least 2 days before you travel to the Yātrā location to acclimate and purchase clothing that is appropriate for temples (details provided after registration). This shopping is best done in larger towns or cities.

The most important preparation for this SATYA training is to be in a self-responsible practice of being physically, emotionally and mentally healthy before you arrive.

Seated meditation is a part of our practice together. Please prepare physically and mentally to be in seated meditation for at least 30-60 minutes.

Also please note that caffeinated beverages are not a planned part of our daily menu. You are requested to wean yourself off coffee, black tea, cacao or other stimulants before arriving so you don’t have headaches or other withdrawal symptoms during SATYA Yatra.

You’re welcome to contact us with any questions or concerns you might have about these preparations.

Our yātrā takes place in northern Karnataka, in the region traditionally known as Kishkinda.

To get there, we suggest arranging a private driver to transport you from Bengaluru (Bangalore) on 9 January—a  drive of 6-8 hours to the village where we will be located—and can privately recommend a driver to you, if needed. These details can also be coordinated in advance with your yātrā companions in our shared online messaging group.

Buses from Bengaluru are also available. Additionally, there are flights from Bengaluru to the nearest airport, Vidyanagar Airport or VDY (near Bellary, approximately 1.5 hours from our destination by car). These flights are scheduled throughout most weeks of the year, but we have found them to be unreliable. Additional details can be provided after registration and in our shared messaging group.

No. Coffee, black and green tea, cacao or other stimulant beverages are not a planned part of our daily menu.

Black tea chai may sometimes be available when we go out for excursions, but please do not rely on having it daily. You are recommended to wean yourself off caffeine or other stimulants before arriving so you don’t have headaches or other withdrawal symptoms once we begin yātrā.

The final deadline to apply for SATYA Yātrā is 15 December 2025. However, spaces are limited, so you’re advised to apply as soon as possible.
